Many forest animals gather around the little removable goddess figure. Clay impressions for this sculpture were taken from the bark of five-hundred-year-old Douglas Fir trees near Fall Creek, Oregon. Fifty acres of these rare trees are being preserved in the Willamette National Forest. There are very few virgin old growth trees left in the Pacific Northwest due to clear cutting. Artemis removable. 3" across at base.
The Goddess Artemis dreams a prayer with woodland creatures for the protection of our ancient forests. Grieving the loss of her great-grandmother tree, she holds a seedling promise of new growth next to her heart.
